Thetas...At Your Service!
The Denver Alumnae Chapter donates both volunteer time and
money to a variety of causes. Proceeds from our annual fundraisers
support the three college chapters in Colorado, the local CASA organizations,
the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, and the Denver Alumnae Chapter Educational
Trust Fund Scholarship. We also have many hands-on service projects
throughout the year - there's something for virtually every interest level and
activity level. Contact our VP of Service, Barb
Gonzales, for more information. (Contact info available in your annual
membership directory.) Our National Philanthropies

The Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation
strengthens and empowers members through philanthropy and education.
The Foundation supports programs serving many causes, including
scholarships to alumnae and undergraduate members, the fraternity's
Educational Leadership Consultants program, and National CASA. For more information about the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, click here
or on the Foundation logo.
Through the Foundation, the Denver Alumnae Chapter
established the Denver Alumnae Chapter Educational
Trust Fund Scholarship, awarded each year to a deserving local
collegian. Donations to Foundation may be earmarked for the Denver
ETF by simply writing "Denver ETF" in the memo portion of any
check payable to Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation. These funds will be
deposited directly into the ETF.
Your annual gift to the Foundation helps make
these programs a reality and has a powerful impact on the lives of our
members.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special
Advocates. They are trained community volunteers appointed by a
judge to speak up for abused and neglected children in court. With
the information provided by CASA volunteers, judges are able to make
informed decisions as to what is best for the child - foster care,
reunification, or adoption - and in a more timely fashion, so these
children still have a chance at childhood.
In 1989, Kappa Alpha Theta designated CASA as the
official Fraternity philanthropy. Since that time, the Kappa Alpha Theta
Foundation has contributed over $750,000 to support the National CASA
Association in its efforts to provide services, information and support
to local community CASA programs. These local programs assist abused and
neglected children in the juvenile court system in your community and
others across the United States.
In addition to Foundation Support, local CASA
programs provide an opportunity for college chapters and alumnae groups
to get involved at a hands-on level. Local programs need financial
support, office assistance, special project support and CASA volunteers
and you can help!

local CASA programs through CASAnet.

Hands-on Service Opportunities
Our service programs benefit others
in the community, as well as involve our members in meaningful giving.
Throughout the year, we
may serve the following organizations, through scheduled volunteer events and
"tag-ons":

|
|
|
|
|
|
- CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties
|

|
Tag-on Service Events
Abundant service opportunities exist throughout the year
in conjunction with our program schedule. These popular "tag-on" events
provide you with the chance to participate in a mini-service project while
enjoying one of our fabulous programs. If you cannot attend, but would
like to make a contribution, please contact our VP of Service.
Caring Committee
Whether it's a meal delivered when a baby is born, or a
phone call or visit to cheer someone up, the Caring Committee is here to help.
We are always happy to have your help to support local Thetas in need -
volunteer to serve on the Caring Committee by indicating your interest on the
annual membership form or contacting our VP of Service.
