About the Denver Alumnae
Chapter

Kappa
Alpha Theta, the first Greek-letter fraternity known among women
Established
1870
Chartered in 1908, the Denver Alumnae Chapter
today boasts more than 350 members from the metro Denver area. The primary
functions of the group are threefold: to support the Kappa Alpha Theta
Fraternity both internationally and locally; to provide opportunities for
social, intellectual, and moral growth of its members; and to make a positive
contribution to the Denver community. The Denver Alumnae Chapter is
nationally recognized as one of the strongest Theta alumnae groups in the United
States and was honored with the prestigious Founders Award in 1991. The
chapter's highlights include:
- Numerous social functions each year, many of
which are combined with fundraising events or service programs.
- Annual fundraisers that raise money for Theta
charities and local Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) organizations.
- Seasonal newsletters that provide news and
information about chapter activities and upcoming events.
- Leadership opportunities for more than 50
women to hold office on the board and on numerous committees.
- Annual award of the Denver Alumnae Chapter
Educational Trust Fund scholarship, which is given to a Denver area
collegian each year through the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
